Colorado Springs Partner Steve Smith and Associate Suzanne Crespo published an article in the January issue of SportsTravel Magazine regarding the issues and questions to consider when negotiating business agreements. When reviewing contracts, they advise to ensure that ambiguous terms are defined and understood by both parties, protect intellectual property under the contract terms, know the conditions under which an agreement can be terminated and review actual remedies in the event a dispute arises. “While basic contract terms like the ones we’ve discussed may seem like the least exciting piece of the puzzle, they are part of the fundamental structure of an agreement,” they wrote.
