William "Jeff" Maloney practices in the areas of commercial litigation and bankruptcy. He has experience in representing both debtors and creditors in bankruptcy proceedings and litigants in state and federal courts in Missouri and Kansas. He has also conducted arbitrations under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Areas in which he has litigated include transfer avoidance, stay relief and denial of discharge actions in the bankruptcy courts and loan enforcement actions, including judicial foreclosures and actions involving the appointment of receivers, is state and federal courts. He was a journalist prior to attending law school.

Representative Experience

  • Represented commercial bank in a Chapter 11 proceeding involving a debtor that owned a 250-300 store chain of convenience stores that resulted in a sale of the store chain as a going concern.
  • Represented receiver in a federal receivership sale that realized $131,500,000 to the secured lender.
  • Lead counsel for commercial bank in foreclosure proceedings on office buildings in several states following the bankruptcy filing of the general partner of several borrowing entities.
  • Represented lender with a $100,000,000 loan portfolio throughout federal receivership proceedings, followed by the Chapter 11 bankruptcy of the loan originator.
