Steven Stimell is the managing partner of the New York office and co-leader of the firm’s Global Hospitality Team. Mr. Stimell has deep experience in advising hotels, resorts, time-share operators, restaurants and others in the hospitality sector in a wide variety of matters including, among others, owner-operator relations, employment, complex commercial disputes, customer loyalty programs, fiduciary duty claims and accessibility issues including website accessibility. His litigation practice includes trials in state and federal court as well as alternative dispute forums. Mr. Stimell is also the former co-leader of the firm’s Labor and Employment Client Service Group. His employment practice is comprised of counseling employers in all facets of employment related issues including, among others, discipline, termination, policies, reductions-in-force, FMLA, ADA, ADEA, and FLSA. He has defended employers in actions brought in federal and state court, in arbitration as well as before state and federal administrative agencies.
Steven Stimell is the managing partner of the New York office. Prior to holding this position, he was co-leader of the firm’s Labor and Employment Client Service Group. Mr. Stimell’s practice involves defending employers against a broad range of discrimination related claims as well as a wide variety of other statutory and common law claims, such as wrongful discharge and wage and hour disputes. His practice also includes disputes arising out of employment contracts and restrictive covenants; breaches of the employee’s fiduciary duties; and theft and/or misuse of confidential information and trade secrets. He is the partner principally responsible for the firm’s employment-related litigation in the New York region on behalf of two national employers, each with more than 100,000 employees. Mr. Stimell has litigation experience before federal and state courts, administrative agencies and arbitration forums in numerous jurisdictions, including New York, New Jersey, California, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Mexico.
Mr. Stimell also provides counseling to employers on these and a broad range of employment related issues, including among others, hiring, discipline, termination, reductions-in-force, medical leaves, and disability related concerns.
