Lauren Caisman advocates for and advises clients in complex commercial, products liability, intellectual property, and class action litigation and matters. She has broad and substantive litigation experience in state and federal courts, arbitrations, and administrative agency proceedings, including in case development and strategy, pleadings and motion practice, written and oral discovery, court hearings, and appeals. Ms. Caisman has represented individual and corporate clients in the aviation, luxury goods, banking, food, and media industries. She has advised and defended clients with respect to claims for breach of contract, warranty, negligence, wrongful death, personal injury, trademark infringement, and other torts.
Lauren has defended major aircraft component part manufacturers and maintenance service providers in contract disputes, as well as wrongful death and personal injury litigation arising from aircraft accidents that occurred throughout the United States and abroad.
In the area of consumer financial services litigation, Ms. Caisman has experience representing financial institutions both locally and nationally before state and federal trial and appellate courts. She has defended financial institutions in a variety of cases, including matters alleging violations of the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FRCA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), as well as state unfair and deceptive acts or practices (UDAP) statutes and other consumer lending statutes and regulations.
Before joining Bryan Cave, Ms. Caisman represented Northwestern as a member of the Bartlit Center Trial Team and served as an Associate Editor of the Northwestern University Law Review. During law school, she also completed a judicial externship in the chambers of Northern District of Illinois Bankruptcy Judge Susan Pierson Sonderby. A Chicago native and avid Wolverine, Lauren enjoys playing volleyball and golfing.
