Jennifer Berhorst specializes in commercial and employment litigation. Ms. Berhorst’s litigation practice includes all aspects of the litigation process, including case strategy, motion practice, depositions, court hearings and pre-trial preparations. Ms. Berhorst has a wide range of commercial litigation experience representing clients in contract disputes, consumer banking actions, commercial foreclosures and related actions, negligence actions, general business and contract disputes and claims of fraud. Ms. Berhorst’s employment litigation experience includes defending employers against claims of race, gender and age discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination. She also defends employers against class and collective actions alleging state and federal wage and hour violations. In addition, Ms. Berhorst has assisted in advising and counseling clients on various labor and employment matters, including proper employee classification under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
In addition to being named Up & Coming in Labor & Employment by SuperLawyers in 2015, Ms. Berhorst is also recognized for her pro bono work, including having obtained favorable immigration status for victims of human trafficking and successfully represented numerous clients in obtaining guardianship of minors under their care.
