Gustavo (Gus) Schneider practices primarily in the areas of real estate finance and real estate capital markets. Mr. Schneider’s practice is national in scope and involves representing clients such as major financial institutions and CMBS/CME loan servicers in connection with securitized and unsecuritized commercial mortgage loan transactions, including modifications, assumptions, note sales, and defeasances.  With regard to the latter, Mr. Schneider has assisted lenders and servicers in defeasing an excess of $1 billion in commercial mortgages.

While in law school, Mr. Schneider was a judicial intern for the Honorable Susan R. Bolton of the United States District Court for the District of Arizona and a summer associate in the firm’s Phoenix office. In addition, he served first as associate editor and then as articles editor for Jurimetrics: The Journal of Law, Science, and Technology, the official peer-reviewed journal of the American Bar Association Section of Science & Technology Law.  

Before entering the legal profession, Mr. Schneider did graduate work in clinical psychology and spent several years employed in the mental health industry, gaining significant real-world clinical experience as a supervisor in the adolescent unit of an accredited residential treatment center and a utilization review care manager at a level one psychiatric hospital.
