Penn Nicholson has represented debtors, creditors' committees, creditors, and section 363 sale purchasers in large chapter 11 cases involving manufacturing, fabricating, wholesaling, nursing homes, in-home health care, retailing, real estate, telecommunications and institutional lending, among others. Mr. Nicholson has served as trustee, receiver and creditor representative, and is experienced in litigation, including jury trials.
Based on his extensive experience with troubled companies, Mr. Nicholson's practice includes planning and strategies attendant to business reorganization, including financial restructuring, downsizing and related contractual, regulatory and litigation matters.
Mr. Nicholson has served as president and director of the Southeastern Bankruptcy Law Institute, chair of the Bankruptcy Section of the Georgia Bar, has written on bankruptcy topics and has spoken at bankruptcy seminars, including the Alabama Bar Bankruptcy by the Sea program and the AIRA yearly meeting. He has been consistently recognized in various publications as a leader in his field.
Mr. Nicholson also engages in a Government Relations practice, emphasizing work with members of the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG).
