Chicago Counsel Maria Vathis will participate on two panels at the Paris Fashion Law and Innovation Conference, Sept. 29 in Paris, France.
The conference includes programs on a variety of legal topics in the fashion industry, including analysis of the latest innovations, product launch, and legal and intellectual property considerations, as well as the latest issues in presenting fashion shows, from clearing licenses to governmental permissions.
Vathis will moderate the discussion “Fashion Innovation – Breaking Barriers” in which panelists will provide a legal analysis of current fashion innovation, legal pitfalls and issues from a French and U.S. perspective and a prospective analysis of the legal landscape in both countries given the current political climate. In addition, she will address some of the most salient topics related to product launch, new developments in laws and general legal considerations in the United States through her participation in the “Product Launch – Tackling Challenges from Startup to Famous Brands” panel and discussion.
Vathis has a diverse practice which concentrates primarily on commercial litigation and class action defense involving alleged statutory violations in both federal and state courts. She also has represented a broad range of clients in the fashion/retail industry and the insurance industry. Vathis represents clients from the United States and Europe.
