Chicago Partner Jena Valdetero and St. Louis Partner Richard Finneran spoke May 17 at the 2018 Associate of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Chicago Summit where they discussed legal issues relating to cybersecurity and data privacy, including their methods for analyzing and anticipating the true costs of a data breach. Valdetero heads Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner’s Data Breach Response Team, with a specific focus on counseling, compliance and litigation. In addition, she handles a variety of commercial litigation and business disputes both locally and nationally before state and federal trial and appellate courts. Valdetero represents a diverse array of clients, including mortgage lenders, mortgage servicers, commercial lenders, consumer product manufacturers, health care companies, major retailers and individual parties.
Finneran’s practice concentrates on white collar criminal matters, corporate internal investigations, corporate compliance, and civil trial and appellate litigation. From 2010 to 2017, Finneran served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri and was responsible for prosecuting some of the region’s most significant white collar matters, including the two largest financial fraud trials ever conducted by that office.
