For more than three years, David Kasakove, Jovana Crncevic and Sarah Bloom in New York have fought for a Syrian mother and her teenage daughter seeking political asylum in the U.S.
In January 2014, our clients fled their home in Damascus after government forces decided their neighborhood was a rebel stronghold and turned it into a war zone. After our clients were denied asylum at the administrative level in January 2015, we took their case to the Executive Office for Immigration Review.
Recently, they went to trial before a judge who has one of the lowest rates of granting asylum in the state of New York. The Bryan Cave team was successful in persuading the court to grant asylum to our clients.
