Firm Chair Therese Pritchard was quoted Oct. 25 by the New York Law Journal concerning partner pay equity at large law firms. Pritchard said that pay among Bryan Cave’s partners is influenced by numerous factors, and that pay equity is examined with the same care as client succession and leadership data. "To me it's just a fundamental fairness issue. It's reflected in pay but before that in what kinds of opportunities we’re creating for younger lawyers," she told the publication. "I think women in leadership and on committees like compensation is key to resolving these compensation issues at the end of the day. If you just focus on pay equity in a vacuum and don’t focus on what causes performance issues you don’t solve the problem." Pritchard also noted that Bryan Cave has stepped up firmwide efforts to meet benchmarks set by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum, earning WILEF "Gold Standard" certification three years in a row.
