San Francisco Partner Lee Marshall will join a WILEF – Northern California Chapter event on “Closing the Wage Gap by Focusing on Our Own Compensation.” This June 26 Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF) panel discussion will bring together both in-house and law firm decision-makers to consider what women lawyers can do to increase their compensation.
Topics will include the importance of tone, timing and message when advocating for an increase in compensation; how to better prepare for a formal review; how to know if you are being fairly compensated; and how to talk about and maximize compensation while striving to close the wage gap.
At Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, Marshall focuses his practice on commercial, intellectual property and appellate litigation. He is an experienced trial lawyer who has represented clients in the United States Supreme Court, argued appeals in numerous appellate courts, and tried cases in district courts across the country. Active in firm leadership, Marshall is the former leader of BCLP’s Commercial Litigation Client Service Group and the Appellate Team. He co-chaired the Bryan Cave Strategic Planning Committee and is a member of the combined firm’s Board and Partner Remuneration Committee.
BCLP was proud to be recognized by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF) as a Gold Standard firm for the fourth year in a row in 2017. WILEF created its Gold Standard Certification to encourage the advancement of women in large law firms. Firms are eligible for Gold Standard Certification if they successfully demonstrate that women represent a meaningful percentage of their equity partners, highest leadership positions, governance and compensation committees, and most highly compensated partners.
