Atlanta Partner Jennifer Odom presented Sept. 21 at the 2017 Georgia Bankers Association (GBA) Compliance Conference in Macon, Ga. Odom spoke on the topic of Georgia’s new power of attorney act, which became effective July 1, how the new act is different from the old act, which act applies and when, and other matters of interest in using powers of attorney
Odom is a civil litigation attorney with a focus on business disputes, complex financial, commercial and corporate litigation, fiduciary litigation, trust and estate litigation. Odom advises financial institutions on regulatory matters, including the regulation of mortgage loan servicing, compliance with the Truth in Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, and state laws on fair lending and mortgage foreclosure procedures. Ms. Odom assists financial institutions in the development and review of vendor management and compliance programs relating to mortgage and foreclosure issues.
