London Senior Associate Claire Morel de Westgaver will speak at the CEPANI40 seminar Nov. 23 in Brussels on “The New Generation of Arbitrators.” Morel de Westgaver’s session will discuss non-represented parties, non-appearance and non-participation in arbitration. The event is co-organised by ICC Belgium and YAWP.

CEPANI40 was founded under the auspices of CEPANI, the Belgian Centre for Arbitration and Mediation. The organization is specifically aimed at young professionals with an interest in arbitration. CEPANI40 organizes regular meetings where practice-oriented issues are addressed by arbitration specialists.

Morel de Westgaver is admitted to practice law in both England and Wales and the U.S. (New York). She has acted as counsel in proceedings conducted under the rules of the LCIA, ICC, AAA/ICDR, SCC and UNCITRAL and involving the laws of England and Wales, New York, France, Sweden, Belgium, China, Qatar, Pakistan, Romania, Saint Lucia and Cyprus. In addition to her work as counsel, she sits as an arbitrator.

Morel de Westgaver has been recognized by Who's Who Legal as a "Future Leader in International Arbitration" for 2017 and 2018. She sits on the Steering Committee of YAWP (Young Arbitral Women Practitioners), of CEPANI40 and of the young professionals group of the Silicon Valley Arbitration and Mediation Center (SVAMC-YP).
