Paris Partner Antoine Martin spoke recently at the 13th annual AGROFinance symposium, the meeting of agri-food managers and entrepreneurs. Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner was an event sponsor.
Every year, the AGROFinance symposium brings together more than 200 leaders from the agri-food industries and their partners. This year the event focused on "The keys to anticipate and succeed in its transmission."
During his presentation at the Nov. 20 event, Martin shared his experience of cross-border sale operations and highlighted a number of difficulties specific to this type of transaction that the transferor must anticipate, in particular those related to the buyer’s assessment of the French legal risk.
He also took the opportunity to point out that a specific BCLP strength is strong sectoral knowledge paired with long-term client relationships, which means BCLP attorneys work alongside clients during the entire negotiating process, whether in France or abroad.
