Kansas City Partner Jim Lawrence has been named a 2018 NextGen Leader by the Kansas City Business Journal.
This is the sixth year for the NextGen Leaders program. A panel of independent judges selected 25 honorees. The goal of the NextGen Leaders program is to identify those in the Kansas City business and civic community who are beginning to exert their influence through leadership at their companies, on nonprofit boards or through other community involvement. The KCBJ helps to connect them with each other, with readers and with current leaders in Kansas City. NextGen Leaders may or may not be the top person at their companies, but they are on the need-to-know list regardless of title.
A commercial litigator and trial lawyer, Lawrence has handled a wide range of disputes arising in the U.S. and abroad. He routinely represents some of the largest financial institutions, insurance companies, and other national and multinational corporations in complex litigation involving loan disputes, breach of contract, fraud and unfair business practices, among other matters. Lawrence is experienced in litigation matters including lender liability claims; compliance with federal laws and regulations; breach of fiduciary duty claims; contract disputes; ownership disputes between partners, shareholders, or members of closely held businesses; trade secret and non-competition claims; class action claims; and insurance coverage issues.
The 25 NextGen Leaders in Kansas City business will be honored at a private luncheon on Aug. 3.
