New York Partner Phil Karmel will present Dec. 3-4 at the Practising Law Institute’s (PLI) 20th Annual Commercial Real Estate Institute in New York. The program will be webcast and groupcast to locations in Nashville, New Brunswick and Atlanta.
Karmel will present on the panel Environmental Law in Real Estate Transactions, which will cover environmental due diligence and disclosure, urban environmental issues, key liability issues under federal and state laws, and more. Other speakers will discuss a variety of real estate topics, including recent tax reform, avoiding and handling real estate litigation, and lending issues, among others.
Karmel has broad experience serving as litigation and regulatory counsel in environmental, land use, real estate and toxic tort matters. He has published works and presented on environmental litigation, toxic torts, director and officer liability, fine particulate matter, cross-state air pollution, lead paint, asbestos, risk assessment, oil spill liability, consumer protection statutes, preemption, arbitration, natural resource damages, the tax assessment of contaminated properties and environmental impact review.
