Washington Partner Broderick Johnson was quoted Jan. 20 by Law360 concerning the potential problems associated with a federal government shutdown. Johnson, a former legislative aide under President Bill Clinton and cabinet secretary for President Barack Obama, said that while courts may remain open, many cases will be delayed and many agencies will be told to send their attorneys home. “There are people who were counting on having their day in court and having issues resolved,” said Johnson, who was in the federal government for the 1996 shutdown. “The worst part about this is the uncertainty it creates for federal employees and the general public.” Click here to read the full article; subscription may be required.
