St. Louis Partner Jerry Hunter was quoted Aug. 9 by Bloomberg Law regarding an announcement from the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) that it intends to negotiate a new collective contract with its professional staff. This is the first contract renegotiation in at least 15 years. Hunter, a former NLRB general counsel, said personnel and office property costs account for the overwhelming majority of the board’s budget. “They don’t have a whole lot of flexibility,” he said. “One of the only ways to keep the agency’s costs down is by reducing personnel.”
