Bryan Cave was noted July 2 in numerous outlets – including Web sites for the ACLU of Florida and the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under the Law, independent newswires and blogs – for pro bono representation by the firm in connection with an administrative petition filed against Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner challenging his implementation of voting law changes in some Florida counties, but not those covered by the Voting Rights Act of 1964, despite Florida law requiring uniform application of voting law changes throughout the state of Florida. DC Of Counsel Jim Murphy and Associates Jennifer Mammen and Nick Sloey, with assistance from others, have been primarily responsible for researching, assembling materials for and drafting this administrative petition. It is being handled in Florida by local pro bono counsel. Click here to read a press release on the topic.
