Washington Associate Adam Shaw successfully obtained a joint motion for partial remand for a low-income Army veteran whose appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims included claims related to PTSD, bilateral hearing loss and tinnitus stemming from his active duty service during the Gulf War.

Under the remand order, the secretary of Veterans Affairs acknowledged that the Board of Veterans Appeals erred in several ways in denying the veteran medical benefits. It also allows the veteran to submit new evidence on remand, granting him a second chance at having his disability claims assessed.
