Atlanta Partner Mark Duedall was quoted June 30 in The Telegraph on the sale of Bryan Cave client Oconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville, Ga., to Macon-based Navicent Health. Oconee Regional filed its Chapter 11 bankruptcy case last month, with Prime Healthcare Foundation designated as the “stalking horse bidder.” After a re-marketing period, Navicent Health made a competing bid, resulting in a competitive auction just before the July 4th weekend. Navicent ended up winning the auction. “Navicent had the highest opening bid. Prime was not willing to offer any further bids,” Duedall said. Mark is leading a cross-office team for Oconee Regional in this expedited engagement, assisted by Leah Fiorenza (Restructuring, Atlanta), Michael Cooley (Restructuring, Dallas), Anne Sharamitaro (Health Care, St. Louis) and Melodee Thompson (Outsourcing, Atlanta). The transaction is expected to close in September.
