Chief Innovative Officer Kathryn DeBord and Chief Practice Economics Officer Chris Emerson authored an article Jan. 10 in Solicitors Journal on the rising need for better operational integration of legal services within a client’s corporate framework. Bryan Cave’s BCXponent, a legal consultancy created from two internal teams at Bryan Cave, reflects the new standard for legal service delivery by providing legal services as well as advisory and technical solutions for clients. “Historically, operational issues were the province of the client while the outside legal adviser handled the legal advice,” they wrote. “Nowadays, these traditional roles do not reflect the nature and demand of modern counsel and opportunities for partnership with law departments.
