Bryan Cave St. Louis Partners Brendan Johnson and Brandon Neuschafer will present during a special content session titled “From Laboratory to Farm, Transforming a Biological Company from R&D to Commercialization” at this year’s Ag Innovation Showcase, Sept. 12-14 in St. Louis. The annual event brings together thought leaders to focus on issues of predominant interest to both the agricultural industry and society as a whole.

Bryan Cave is a sponsor of the 2016 Ag Innovation Showcase. Presenters will include top ag tech experts and innovators from industry, academia, economic development organizations and governments. Last year, the more than 400 attendees from 21 countries made it a sold-out event.

Johnson and Neuschafer from Bryan Cave will join a panel that includes Jerry Duff, president-owner of AgriThority; Tom Laurita, CEO of NewLeaf Symbiotics; and John Hamer, investment director of Monsanto Growth Ventures, in a discussion of the commercial development of a hypothetical biological product. The panel will explore the decisions a startup company faces as it moves from research to revenue. Neuschafer will serve as panel moderator.

Johnson, co-leader of Bryan Cave’s Emerging Companies Practice, has a broad-based corporate practice with concentrations in corporate finance and securities law, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance matters. Neuschafer practices primarily in the fields of environmental and food law, including regulatory compliance, transactional counseling and litigation. He has done significant work relating to agriculture, food and biotechnology issues, and is a founding member and co-chair of Bryan Cave’s Food & Beverage Team.

The Ag Innovation Showcase is a joint effort of the Bio Research & Development Growth (BRDG) Park, the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center and the Larta Institute. For more information about the conference or to register, click here.
