Bryan Cave Partner Re-Elected to Board of Directors of American Chamber of Commerce in France

February 11, 2016

PARIS, 11 February 2016 – Partner Joseph Smallhoover, in the Paris office of the international law firm Bryan Cave LLP, has been re-elected to the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in France, having served on the board for four consecutive years. Smallhoover has been an active participant in the American Chamber of Commerce in France over the past 30 years, including a previous stint on the board as president of its Young Executive Program.

Smallhoover will remain on the group’s Governance Review Committee and the Nominations Committee – positions he has held for the past two years. In these roles, he will continue to help with the board’s development by examining how well the current governance structure is operating and by putting forward proposals for changes where necessary. He also will assist by examining the skills and characteristics needed in candidates for the board of directors.

Over the past 30 years, Smallhoover has advised French and international clients on a broad variety of transactions and disputes across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. His practice areas are of particular value to AmCham in France as they cover regulatory compliance affecting multinational businesses and financial institutions, custom and trade law, banking and financial law, anti-corruption, data protection and privacy law, corporate law and general commercial law.

“I am honoured to be re-elected to the board of AmCham in France and thus be recognized for my work to the benefit of the chamber and its members,” Smallhoover said. “I will continue employing my knowledge, skills and experience in the legal domain by counselling the board on the issues of governance and nominations.”
