Bryan Cave has been named one of six St. Louis employers on the inaugural “Women in the Workplace Employment Scorecard.” This list of companies that work to retain and promote women, with formalized policies in place to help female workers thrive, was created by the Women’s Foundation of Greater St. Louis as part of an initiative the foundation launched last fall.
In order to be considered, area employers voluntarily filled out a 41-question scorecard that covered everything from family leave policies to the percentage of top-earning positions held by women and whether recruitment specifically targets women and minorities.
“We are pleased with this recognition,” said Bryan Cave’s Chief Diversity Officer Lisa Martin. “Bryan Cave is committed to the recruitment, retention and advancement of women at our firm. We strive to be a firm where women want to come and stay, and where they can thrive.”
The Women’s Foundation of Greater St. Louis works to advance economic security for women and girls. The organization awards grants to local nonprofits that serve women and girls; increases awareness in the community of gender-inequity issues; advocates for change in public policies; and works to improve workplace policies and practices.
“By recognizing employers who demonstrate a strong commitment to women in the workplace, the Women in the Workplace Employment Scorecard will incentivize organizations to improve their policies and practices for female employees,” the organization stated. “This initiative will positively impact women across all job classifications.”
