Bryan Cave General Counsel Laura Giokas will discuss “Tales from the GC’s Office: What's Keeping Law Firm General Counsel Busy?” as part of the 16th Annual Legal Malpractice & Risk Management Conference. This is the nation’s premier event focused on developments in the law and litigation of malpractice claims, legal malpractice, insurance and risk management strategies.
Giokas will cover current issues relevant to general counsel, including the need to monitor lateral recruiting, attend far-flung offices, protect clients’ and the firm’s information, deal with outside counsel guidelines, and conflicts.
Giokas manages and coordinates all firm-related legal matters as Bryan Cave’s general counsel. In this role, she also advises the firm on strategic and operational decisions and develops firmwide protocols and policies in the risk management area. Prior to becoming general counsel, Giokas practiced in Bryan Cave’s Commercial Litigation Group, representing corporate clients in the areas of products liability defense, commercial litigation, and employment litigation and advice.
