Hamburg, July 19, 2017 – The international law firm Bryan Cave LLP has expanded its labor law practice in Germany. Associate Jens Peters joins Counsel and qualified labor law specialist Dr. Martin Lüderitz in the Hamburg office from a multinational law firm, where he last worked as a senior associate in Frankfurt. After the addition of Michael Magotsch in the Frankfurt office in April, this move is the second notable addition for the firm’s international labor law practice this year.
Peters advises medium-sized and large national and international companies on all issues relating to individual and collective labor law and occupational pension schemes. He advises on the conclusion and termination of employment and service contracts, conducts negotiations with works councils, advises on corporate codetermination, represents clients in court, coordinates employment law-related international projects and advises on employment aspects of internal investigations. In addition, he advises on employment aspects of the acquisition, reorganization and restructuring of companies. He has significant experience with clients from numerous sectors, in particular from the automotive and food industry and the finance sector.
“We are pleased to continue the expansion of our labor law practice. German labor law presents challenges for human resources departments of international groups as well as German companies – in particular in transactions and restructurings. With Jens Peters, we gain an experienced labor law lawyer who will contribute to our practice group in Hamburg in important areas,” emphasized Eckart Budelmann, managing partner of the Hamburg office. “In addition to his experience in advising on corporate sales and acquisitions, he also will assist in the representation of our clients in disputes in labor courts and within the framework of collective bargaining and conflicts.”
This new hire complements Bryan Cave’s overall growth in Germany. Counsel Dominik Weiß and Associate Dr. Andreas Hentschel joined the Hamburg IP practice in March. The Transactions practice in Frankfurt gained M&A lawyer Dr. Kirsten Girnth as a new partner and Associates Dirk Breyhahn and Christian Müller earlier this year and Of Counsel Michael Magotsch in April
The Hamburg Bryan Cave team now consists of three partners, four counsel and eight associates.
