For the 11th year in a row, Bryan Cave has earned a perfect score of 100 percent on the Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.

“As an essential part of our continued commitment to making the firm a diverse and inclusive workplace for everyone, we are proud to once again earn 100 percent in this evaluation,” said Bryan Cave Chief Diversity Officer Lisa Martin. “This is considered the gold standard in evaluating employer policies and practices on LGBTQ issues.”

The 2018 CEI rated 947 businesses on their LGBTQ-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs and public engagement with the LGBTQ community. Bryan Cave earned a 100 percent ranking from CEI and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.

“It’s no surprise that many top-scoring businesses are also top-performing businesses. They know that creating inclusive workplaces and communities where their employees can thrive is an investment in their own competitive edge,” HRC Foundation President Chad Griffin noted in the report. “That’s why LGBTQ-inclusive workplace policies are becoming the norm in the U.S., and having an impact around the globe.”

Nationwide, 127 law firms earned 100 percent – more than any other business sector by far (in second place is banking and financial services, with 79 businesses earning 100 percent). Click here to read the 2018 Corporate Equality Index.
