July 29, 2014 – The international law firm Bryan Cave LLP (www.bryancave.com) has announced changes to the firm’s Management Committee, which oversees the day-to-day worldwide operations of the firm. In addition, the firm has announced leadership changes in the Kansas City office and in the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Client Service Group (CSG).
Effective October 1, 2014, Larry Frazen, a partner based in Bryan Cave’s Kansas City office, will join the Management Committee. Frazen has served on the Executive Committee and is currently the Kansas City Office Managing Partner. He represents debtors, creditors, creditors committees and other interested parties in bankruptcy proceedings across the country, and joined Bryan Cave in 1983.
Partner Perry Brandt will become the Office Managing Partner of the Kansas City office on October 1, 2014. A securities and commercial litigator, Brandt joined the firm in 2005.
Peter Van Cleve, a partner in the firm’s St. Louis office, will assume the role of Management Committee Chair effective October 1, 2014, succeeding Dennis Fleischmann, who has served as Chair since 2007 and is term limited. Van Cleve has served on the committee since 2011. Prior to joining the Management Committee, Van Cleve served as St. Louis Office Managing Partner for seven years. He joined Bryan Cave in 1988 and his practice focuses on complex business and transactional counseling, representing private equity firms and privately held businesses.
“While we will miss Dennis’ practical and thoughtful voice, Larry will add his equally strong judgment to the committee, and Peter will bring his extensive firm leadership experience to his new role as Chair of the Management Committee,” said Chair-Elect of the Firm Therese Pritchard. “Perry’s reputation in the Kansas City legal community and respect within our firm are unsurpassed, which makes him a great choice for Office Managing Partner.”
In addition, Sarah Sise, a partner in the St. Louis office, has been named Deputy Leader of the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation CSG, working with the current CSG Leader Lisa Van Fleet. Sise has practiced in the employee benefits area for her entire legal career and was named a partner at Bryan Cave in 2009. She joined the firm in 1997. Sise will become the Leader of the Employee Benefits CSG in January 2015.
“Sarah is highly regarded in the area of employee benefits and executive compensation,” added Pritchard. “She and Lisa will provide excellent leadership as Sarah transitions to CSG leader in 2015.”
