The St. Louis Minority Business Council (SLMBC) and the St. Louis Regional Chamber have reached an agreement to combine their operations into a new entity to help create a more inclusive and equitable St. Louis economy. The merger creates a new organization, the St. Louis Minority Business Council LLC, which aims to “develop mutually beneficial business relationships between ethnic minority businesses and major buying organizations in the St. Louis bi-state metropolitan area.”

Bryan Cave advised the St. Louis Minority Business Council Inc., a long-standing community organization, on entering into definitive documentation for the merger. The representation included all aspects of the transaction, including the transition of a portfolio of loans.

The new group will continue to be led by SLMBC President Edward L. Bryant.

“We could not have completed this merger without the exemplary legal counsel provided by the team at Bryan Cave,” Bryant said. “The attention to detail and insightfulness were much appreciated and a great example of Bryan Cave’s commitment to serving the needs of advancing economic inclusion in our region.”

The Bryan Cave team was led by Krishna Walker, with assistance from Keith Kehrer, Michael Schwartz, Michael Lanahan and Travis Kearbey.
