Professor Alan Appel will present July 19 and 20 at the NYU Summer Institute in Taxation in New York. The 12-day conference will offer in-depth sessions on state and local taxation, partnerships, consolidated returns, trusts and estates, federal wealth tax and international taxation.
Appel will co-present July 19 on the panel “Case Studies for Outbound and Inbound Investment,” which will discuss the disparate rules covered in preceding sessions in relation to case studies dealing with outbound and inbound investment scenarios. On July 20, he will co-present on the panel “Foreign Persons Investing in U.S. Real Estate and Other Assets.” The speakers will address partnerships and other structures, treaty planning and financing strategies.
Appel is a professor of law and the director of the International Tax Program at New York Law School. He teaches courses in international taxation, corporate taxation and individual taxation. At Bryan Cave, he consults on international and domestic tax planning involving taxation of mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, joint ventures, limited liability companies and tax controversy matters.
