New York Senior Tax Consultant Alan Appel will present at NYU’s Summer Institute in Taxation. The July 14-25 event is composed of eight individual conferences with topics ranging from state and international taxation to consolidated returns and partnerships. This will be Appel’s eighth time presenting on tax issues at the conference.
Appel is co-chair of the Advanced International Taxation Conference, where he will speak on “Foreign Persons Investing in U.S. Real Estate: Partnership and Other Structures, Opportunities and Traps.” He also will join a panel discussion of case studies for outbound and inbound investment at the Introduction to International Taxation Conference. The panel will address planning techniques for foreign persons conducting business in the United States and U.S. persons conducting business abroad.
Appel is a professor of law at New York Law School. At Bryan Cave, he focuses his practice in international and domestic tax planning involving taxation of mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, joint ventures, limited liability companies and tax controversy matters.
