Miami Associate Giovanni Angles will present Aug. 31 at AIJA’s International Young Lawyers’ Congress in Tokyo, Japan. The five-day conference, Aug. 28-Sept. 1, will include workshops on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on legal business, environmental and energy issues associated with robots, accessing and safeguarding digital assets on death, the use of automated tax systems, and more.

Angles will speak on the panel “The Rise of the Robots in Litigation/Arbitration: E-Discovery, Fraud Detection and AI Judges/Arbitrators,” which will discuss the use of cutting-edge technology in the legal industry, including the pros and cons and their impact on day-to-day work and the business model of firms.

Angles focuses his practice on international arbitration and complex commercial litigation. He acts as counsel in international commercial and investment treaty arbitrations under the major arbitration rules. Angles has represented sovereign, individual and corporate clients in the luxury goods, hospitality, banking, food and telecommunications industries.
