Dr. Zhou Ye has more than 18 years of experience resolving tax issues in the PRC. His practice includes transfer pricing, M&A restructuring, direct tax matters, and negotiating with PRC tax authorities. He has acted for numerous multinational companies including APP, Svarovski, Asahi, and Roadking and has provided PRC tax advice for a Kuwaiti sovereign wealth fund in its investment in China.
His experience includes 12 years working as an official with Chinese tax authorities – Jiangsu Administration of Taxation and the Jiangsu State Administration of Taxation – and he was formerly associated with the tax department of Deloitte & Touche’s Shanghai office. Dr. Zhou was also the PRC tax consultant of a Singaporean law firm.
Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Zhou was an associate professor at the Shanghai National Accounting Institute. He lectured frequently on developments in Chinese tax law, Chinese tax system reform, tax planning, and corporate tax management. His former students include current PRC government officials, corporate managers, chief financial officers, and PRC certified public accountants. Dr. Zhou also acted as an independent director or consultant for many companies. Dr. Zhou has also been hired by the World Bank to advise on an accounting reform project concerning China tax policy and planning.
Dr. Zhou has worked closely with tax authorities, tax/accounting entities, corporations, and academia on advising China’s tax and accounting reform.
