Werner Presents on Family of Marks

New York Counsel Patricia Werner will address the requirements, benefits and challenges of owning a family of marks at the International Trademark Association’s 2012 Annual Meeting. Werner will speak on the panel “Consumer Products – Don’t Mess With Our Family (Of Marks)!” The discussion will include issues such as defining what constitutes a family of marks, reasons for building a family of marks and the advantages and pitfalls to avoid when developing and protecting a family of marks.
Werner represents clients in a variety of industries, including fashion, entertainment and consumer brands in connection with trademark and copyright matters. She counsels clients with respect to global trademark enforcement and protection strategies. She also handles the preparation and negotiation of licenses and other intellectual property related agreements, and performs intellectual property due diligence and negotiation for various transactional matters.
The International Trademark Association’s 2012 Annual Meeting, set for May 5-9 in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., is the premier trademark event for networking, continuing legal education and committee and client meetings.
