In addition to serving the Firm as Regional Director of Administration for the West Region, and Director of Administration for the Phoenix office, Steve Veitch advises Bryan Cave lawyers and their clients on a variety of matters concerning their interface with units of local government. Mr. Veitch joined the firm in 2002 after a 24-year career in local government that included over twelve years as city manager in two prominent Chicago metropolitan area municipalities. He also served for six years as executive director of a major law firm in Chicago, during which he held positions on zoning-related boards and commissions in one of the communities he managed. He has extensive experience in land use planning and zoning matters, including rezoning, subdivisions, planned developments, special uses, variances, annexation and development agreements and eminent domain. He is also experienced in other municipal policy and regulatory matters, including permitting and licensing, as well as all aspects of municipal operations. In total, he has more than 30 years of local government experience. He is currently a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Chandler, Arizona.
