Paul E. Smith is a partner of the firm in the Boulder office and is a member of the firm’s executive committee. His practice emphasis is domestic and international taxation.
Mr. Smith focuses on federal income tax planning for asset acquisitions, equity and debt financings, and business formations and restructurings. Mr. Smith's experience includes tax issues relating to partnership and corporate transactions, the acquisition, development and financing of oil and gas interests, derivative and hedging transactions, assisting clients in technology development and commercialization matters, domestic and international joint ventures, and tax oriented investments.
In addition, he has represented developers and investors in connection with the financing of affordable housing projects using the federal low-income housing and historic rehabilitation tax credits.
Mr. Smith has been with HRO since 1980, except for a four-year period as General Counsel and Executive Vice President of netLibrary, Inc.
