Herman, Arnold Speak at 23rd Annual Spring Symposia

New York Counsel Linda Herman and Phyllis Arnold served as speakers at the American Bar Association Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law’s 23rd Annual Spring Symposia. The event, which took place May 3-4 in New York, featured opportunities for attorneys to earn CLE credit while networking with colleagues and learning about the section’s news and activities.

Herman spoke on “Putting the ‘Ease’ in Shopping Center Easements and Declarations,” which explored Reciprocal Easement and Operating Agreements and Declarations encumbering Shopping Centers from the perspective of the various parties to such agreements and the tenants affected thereby.

Herman specializes in retail and office leasing transactions but has broad experience in all areas of real estate practice. She represents several retail chains leasing space in shopping centers throughout the United States and has represented both landlords and tenants in major retail and office lease transactions.

Arnold spoke on “Investing in Efficiency and Green Technology for the Long Term: Structuring Today’s Energy Efficiency/Green Technology Transactions,” which covered the current state of the market and the regulatory environment for applying green technologies to commercial buildings.

Arnold’s practice focuses on New York City zoning, building, green building and energy code issues within the firm’s Land Use Team.
