Esslinger Noted in 'Wall Street Journal' Blog

A client alert authored by London Partner Anita Esslinger was noted Jan. 19 on The Wall Street Journal blog "Corruption Currents," which focuses on commentary and news about money laundering, bribery, terrorism finance and sanctions. Esslinger’s piece, "Investors Beware: Dividends from Proceeds of Bribes at Risk," considers a civil recovery proceeding under the UK’s Proceeds of Crime Act in which a company has been ordered to repay dividends derived from contracts won by its subsidiary through unlawful conduct, largely arising out of violation of UN-mandated sanctions on Iraq.
