Bryan Cave Represents Southern Star in Deal with NBC Universal

Bryan Cave’s London office has represented Australian television producer and distributor Southern Star in its sale of the Carnival Film and Television Ltd unit to NBC Universal. Southern Star owns approximately 75 percent of the company. The sale, valued at approximately £30 million GBP, was completed Sept. 19.
Founded by Brian Eastman in 1978, Carnival is the company behind the hit BBC drama “Hotel Babylon” and ITV’s “Harley Street” and will provide NBC Universal with a presence in the UK market.
London office Managing Partner Anthony Fiducia led a team that included Senior Associate Gupinder Assi (corporate), Partner Mark Cawthron (tax), Counsel Fiona Crawley (IP), Partner Sarah Linton (employment) and Counsel Michael Salters (employment benefits and pensions).
