Bryan Cave Hosts Trade Seminar for Independent Cosmetics Association

June 20, 2012

Bryan Cave’s Santa Monica office recently hosted a seminar sponsored by the Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers & Distributors Association (ICMAD) and U.S. Commercial Service. The program served as an opportunity to reach out to ICMAD’s West coast members and provide an overview of the U.S. Commercial Service and the international business assistance it provides to companies. Santa Monica Attorneys Evan Chuck, Nicole Simonian, David Stepp and Jackson Pai were featured speakers, discussing best practices in cross-border transactions and trade compliance, with a particular focus on State Food and Drug Administration issues.

ICMAD is a non-profit trade association that provides programs and services to independent cosmetic companies to help them succeed in the rapidly changing, highly competitive cosmetics and personal care industries. There are approximately 700 ICMAD members throughout the U.S. The U.S. Commercial Service is the trade promotion arm of the U.S. Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration. U.S. Commercial Service trade professionals, who are in more than 100 U.S. cities and 75 countries, help U.S. companies get started in exporting or increase sales to new global markets.
