Bryan Cave Partner Appointed to Board of Directors of Prepaid International Forum

February 27, 2012

New York Partner Judith Rinearson has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the international trade association Prepaid International Forum (PIF). Newly elected PIF Chairman Robert Courtneidge said the group recognized a need to expand its board in order to more fully represent member interest, saying the appointment of Rinearson and others is “a significant step by PIF.”

PIF is a global nonprofit trade association established in 2007 to represent all parties participating on a commercial basis in the prepaid economy. It is dedicated to the progression of prepaid commerce around the world and acts as a principal point of liaison between the prepaid economy and government agencies, regulators, consumer bodies and the media as it works to develop cross-industry guidelines and codes of practice.

Rinearson is a recognized authority in the areas of payment systems, electronic payments, stored value, travelers checks and check processing. She has 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, particularly in the areas of emerging payments, non-bank money services and payment products. She currently chairs the Government Relations Working Group for the Network Branded Prepaid Card Association (NBPCA) and serves on the Payment Fraud Task Force for the ABA’s Cyberspace Law Committee. She also serves as representative of the NBPCA on the Treasury’s Bank Secrecy Act Advisory Group. Rinearson publishes articles and speaks frequently on issues surrounding U.S. and international payments.
