Appel and Mandel to Present at the BNA Tax Management Advisory Board
December 1, 2011
Counsel Alan Appel and Of Counsel Jack Mandel will present at the BNA Tax Management Advisory Board’s real estate meeting on Dec. 8. They will present their co-written paper Tax Structuring of Foreign Investment in U.S. Real Estate with a N.Y. Twist
The paper describes some of the possible structuring alternatives a foreign investor may use to limit his or her U.S. tax exposure with respect to the ownership and subsequent disposition of U.S. real estate. The presentation is at the Waldorf-Astoria, followed by a cocktail reception.
BNA Advisory Board meetings are held to discuss key issues in U.S. income, corporate, estate planning, compensation planning, real estate and international taxation.
Appel focuses his practice in international and domestic tax planning involving taxation of mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, joint ventures, limited liability companies and tax controversy matters.
Mandel’s primary areas of practice are partnership taxation, real estate-related tax matters, U.S. taxation of foreign investors and state and local taxation.
