Brenda Talent Joins Bryan Cave’s Tax Practice

Brenda L. Talent has joined the international law firm of Bryan Cave LLP as counsel in its St. Louis office. She is a member of the Tax Advice and Controversy Client Service Group.
Talent offers tax advice, structuring and relevant opinions to corporations in order to best identify and minimize federal and state tax liabilities. She represents clients at examinations and appeals before the Tax Court and federal appellate courts on federal tax matters. In addition, with respect to state tax matters, Talent represents clients at audits and appeals before the Administrative Hearing Commission, the Missouri Supreme Court and federal appellate courts. Talent formerly practiced law with Bryan Cave from 1985 to 1994, first as an associate and later as partner.
Talent received her LL.M. from Georgetown University in 1985, her J.D. from the University of Chicago in 1981 and her B.A., with high honors, from the University of Florida in 1978. She is licensed in Missouri and Florida and admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Federal Claims, the United States Tax Court and United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
Talent is an adjunct professor in the LL.M. tax program at Washington University’s School of Law. She has served as a board member of the Volunteer Service Council, Therapeutic Horsemanship and the Parkway School District, where she also was president of the board. In 1990, Talent earned the Missouri Bar Foundation’s David J. Dixon Appellate Advocacy Award.
