New York Partner Austin Campriello was quoted June 11 in a CNBC online interview related to the trial of former Goldman Sachs director Rajat Gupta. Campriello discussed the risks involved when a defendant in a criminal trial takes the witness stand. He also was quoted in an NPR piece on May 31 regarding peculiar juror behavior in criminal trials. Campriello was quoted regarding a juror in the first trial of former Tyco CEO Dennis Kozlowski, whom the prosecutors thought flashed an “OK sign” to the defense during deliberations. The New York tabloids played up the alleged incident, the juror subsequently received threats and the six-month long trial resulted in a mistrial.
