Berger to Moderate Distinguished Panel on Mortgage Foreclosure

New York Counsel Suzanne Berger will moderate and speak on the panel “How to Help Your Client Navigate Mortgage Foreclosure,” Nov. 13 in Nanuet, N.Y. Three CLE credits will be available: 2.5 for professional practice/skills and .5 for ethics. Judicial Foreclosure in New York is complicated and lengthy. The speakers will also include Hon. Mark C. Dillon, Appellate Division, Second Department, Bruce J. Bergman, author of the multi-volume Matthew Bender treatise on New York Mortgage Foreclosures and an attorney with Berkman, Henoch, Peterson, Peddy & Fenchel, P.C., in Long Island, N.Y., and Nancy J. Barry, Chief Clerk of Westchester Supreme and County Courts. This panel will provide practical suggestions for evaluating early resolution options for borrowers and lenders, look at pleading requirements and burden of proof issues in this context, discuss recent case law and statutory developments and focus on tips for careful motion practice that can increase a client’s chance of success.
