November 30, 2009 - December 1, 2009
PLI Center, New York, NY

Speaker(s): Philip E. Karmel
Sponsor(s): The Practising Law Institute

New York Partner Philip E. Karmel will join a faculty of experienced practitioners from leading law firms across the country for the Practising Law Institute’s 11th Annual Commercial Real Estate Institute. This popular two-day seminar provides the essential information associates, junior partners, in-house counsel and other professionals practicing primarily in the commercial real estate field need to understand the real estate practice from both sides of the negotiation table. Karmel’s presentation will be on managing environmental risk in real estate deals.

Karmel’s practice includes environmental and real estate litigation; land use matters arising under environmental review statutes and zoning laws; and the defense of toxic tort actions. Karmel also counsels clients on environmental matters, including issues arising under the Clean Air Act, brownfields redevelopments, the environmental aspects of corporate and real estate transactions, insurance coverage, environmental impact review and environmental permitting.
