Bryan Cave Listed in Top 10 New York City Real Estate Practices
April 6, 2010
Bryan Cave ranks 10th among New York City law firms with large real estate practices, as stated by
The Real Deal magazine. The April edition ranks the 20 law firms with the largest real estate practices in Manhattan and highlights their most significant deals in 2009.
Citing a shift in real estate activity as a result of the downturn in the economy, the article notes that “while New York City’s lawyers may no longer be drafting legal documents for building sales and new condo projects, they are busy working on other things, including loan workouts, bankruptcies and litigation with lenders.”
Bryan Cave was recognized for its role in the Chapter 11 cases of mall operator General Growth Properties (GGP), the largest operating real estate bankruptcy ever filed. A Bryan Cave team led by New York restructuring partner
Lawrence Gottesman represented two special servicers of approximately $3.8 billion of secured debt in connection with the
GGP cases.
