Matthew Liebler's practice focuses on commercial real estate finance, particularly loan servicing issues. He regularly represents loan portfolio servicers in secured and unsecured financial transactions, including real estate financings, loan assumptions, transfers, cash management and structured financings.
Prior to joining Bryan Cave, Mr. Liebler was a vice president in the real estate capital markets group of the largest master and primary loan servicer in commercial portfolio servicing. Mr. Liebler’s responsibilities included developing and managing the loan assumption process for the servicer. In addition to reviewing, analyzing, and approving loan assumptions, Mr. Liebler frequently negotiated subordination agreements, cash management arrangements, mezzanine debt, preferred equity, transfers of interests, tenant-in-common transactions and other servicing issues. He also served as a liaison with special servicers, rating agencies, B-piece buyers and other investors. Mr. Liebler has lectured on real estate finance and loan servicing issues.
